Ms. Elliott's third grade class integrated coding with animal reports. The students research and wrote reports on an animal of their choice. To present this in an engaging way they utilized Makey Makey board, which run off of code. The students created their code and recorded their report which they then programed to play when certain buttons were operated on the Makey Makey boards.

Dr. Seuss Reading Celebration

We had a great day celebrating reading on Dr. Seuss' birthday! We started the morning with Parents and Pastries and it was so exciting to see so many families show up. Students dressed up as Dr. Seuss book characters, we had guest readers from Valley View Middle School and Salem Jr High, and enjoyed green eggs and ham for school lunch. We ended the day with every student getting a birthday present, their very own new book to take home with them. It was a fun day!

We held our Falcons SOAR Assembly where we recognized teachers, students, and classes that are doing great things at our school for the month of February. This month we also unveiled the name of our new mascot... Sky the Falcon! Our student council also put on a skit introducing our character trait for the month of March, Friendliness.

Our Top Claw Award (Employee of the Month) went to Mrs. Gammell, Mrs. Elder, Mrs. Headman, and Miss Thomas.

Foothills Falcons are Cougar Built

Submitted by elyssa.marzan on

Foothills Falcons learned what it means to be "Cougar Built" during a schoolwide assembly. BYU athletes and members of their Dunk Team visited the school with Cosmo Cougar.  They taught everyone that being "Cougar Built" means that we are Built to Love, Built to Learn, Built to Work, and Built to Connect.  They showed off their amazing skills and abilities as the students roared with applause.
