Foothills Elementary faculty and staff would like to recognize Marci Averett, who was awarded the Crystal Apple for her outstanding work and dedication as a teacher. Mrs Averett teaches 2nd grade and has been at Foothills for the past 4 years. She is always going above and beyond to help students, faculty, and staff with whatever she can. She always has a smile on her face and cares deeply about her students.
What a messy, yet deliciously pleasurable way to end the fun-filled Holiday Week at school. 2nd Graders got to make their "dream" gingerbread house and also maybe enjoyed a building supply or two as they built them. We would like to thank all of the parent volunteers who helped supply the candy, sorted it, and glued the houses together to help make the job a lot easier for the teachers and the students to put their masterpieces together.
All of their hard work has finally paid off! 4th grade has been working hard each day to pass of their multiplication and division facts, It's tough to get them all memorized and recite them or write them down, espeically if they're being timed which turns up the pressure. Congratulations to these 4th grade students who have finally been able to pass each and everyone of them off! It was hard work, but they kept at it until they were able to SOAR through them.
We had such a fun week celebrating the holidays with fun dress up days, sing alongs, and of course lots of learning!
Our Falcons are making so many good choices this month! We have filled up our Falcon Club 100s Board three times this month! Our students who earn a Brag Note get their name on our Falcon Board located at the front of the school. When we fill our board up we hold a drawing and several students win the opportunity to come down for a party. This month we have had fun playing games in the gym and playing some Christmas Bingo. Keep up the hard work, kindness, and leadership Falcons!
We celebrated our November Falcons of the Month this past week. Our character trait focus for the month was Responsibility and these outstanding students are the standouts for our school in modeling how to be responsible in everything they do!
