We had a wonderful Veteran's Assembly. The Foothills Elementary Choir sang a medley of military songs. Local veterans came and the color guard presented the flag and led us in the pledge. They also shared their stories, and showed a film about the military. The Utah State PTA President (Liz Zentner) and Kathy Allred (Utah State PTA Board member over military families) presented Foothills Elementary with a banner for being the first elementary school in Utah to honor the military families in an assembly, and the Mayor of Salem (Randy Brailsford) read a proclamation declaring November as PTA Military Family Month.
