Foothills School Dismissal Information

Submitted by keri.huntsman on

School will be dismissed for the next two weeks beginning Monday, March 16th. I just got home from the district office attending meetings where decisions are in progress about what this will look like for all of us. I will be sending updated information during this process and will need your help to spread the word about the dismissal and the information below. This is a constantly evolving situation that we are navigating the best we can.

This is what we know right now. Teachers will need Monday, March 16th and Tuesday, March 17th to prepare At Home Learning opportunities for your children. This may include online learning, use of computer programs and physical work packets that can be picked up at school. We will be sending out more information about this over the next few days. We plan to have this new learning format ready to send out so students can resume their learning beginning on Wednesday.

We are also discussing how to provide Grab & Go breakfast and lunch options for students who may need meals during this dismissal period. THIS WILL BEGIN ON MONDAY, MARCH 16th. Parents can call in to the office to request lunch between 8-9 am (801-423-9172). Breakfast will be available from 8-9 am and lunch from 11 am-12 pm. Children will be charged for the meal just as they would on a regular day. Those on free or reduced lunch will continue to receive that service as normal. Students can pick up their meals at school and take them back home to eat. The school lunchroom will NOT be open.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING. This situation is unprecedented and will require flexibility from all of us. As you know, we have extremely committed teachers, technicians and support staff that will begin Monday morning to figure this all out. WE'VE GOT THIS! We love your children and want to keep everyone safe and healthy through this crisis.

Please continue to check your email and district website (nebo.edu) for the most current information.

Thanks so much for all your support,

Mrs. Huntsman
