As a culminating activity for studying the Vikings, Third Grade went on a Viking quest. We rowed our longships through all sorts of weather - fair and foul - to reach different Viking ports starting in Iceland. When we finally reached Scandinavia, we had a Viking Day. Kids chose from all sorts of activities including axe throwing, Scandinavian games, Viking cooking, watching How to Train Your Dragon, tug-of-war, and Viking crafts. We were so grateful to parent volunteers who helped with the activities, and we all had a great time.
