Our students received a generous gift of 30 Chromebooks. However, we want to protect these devices. Therefore were are requesting a Chromebook storage cart in order to have a place to safely store and charge these devices. The students will be using the Chromebooks for reteach and enrichment in math. We will also be working on the Aleks program so that students can get practice in mathematics at their own level. We may also be using the computers for writing and reading practice. We very much need a cart to secure our devices.
6th grade students walked down to Salem Pond and enjoyed participating in a scavenger hunt, looking through microscopes, and drawing pictures of nature. They also had fun joining in some team building activities.
Thanks to our student council members for all your help with the fundraiser!
The Foothills Choir is back! They are already singing harmony and sound amazing. Their voices can be heard ringing through the halls every Tuesday and Thursday mornings. There is still room for any 4-6 grade student who would like to join.
Mrs. Elliott's class was challenged to come up with a new use for rubber bands. One group created an earring holder with their rubber bands. Each band holds three pair of studs or two pair of dangling earrings. Great job scientists.
Mrs. Elliott's class had a great and tasty time sharing their "How to Make a Cake" papers. After sharing their papers, two students were selected to have their cakes made. Our class learned that we have to be very precise in our writing. If the recipe called for two eggs, Mrs. Elliott put in two eggs without even cracking them unless the paper specifically said. She also added butter and cream cheese without unwrapping them. Next paper, we will be much more precise as we give directions to another student when we complete our next "How To's."
Sixth-grade students at Foothills Elementary enjoyed playing volleyball with the SHHS Girls Volleyball Team. They were taught several techniques and how to play the game. Everyone had a great time!
Mr. Muhlestein’s 6th grade class enjoyed making earthquake cakes as part of a writing activity. The students wrote some great recipes and the cakes were yummy too!
Parents and students enjoyed a great time at the Fall Festival. Thanks Foothill's PTA for going the extra mile and sponsoring such a fabulous event.
