Cuneiform Writing

Submitted by corallee.findlay on

Just like the ancient Sumerians, sixth grade students in Mrs. Bushman's class learned to write on clay tablets using ancient symbols for words called cuneiform.  Using clay and cuneiform letters to write messages was fun, but the students are very glad they don't have to do this every day!

Fourth-Grade Hoe-Down

Submitted by corallee.findlay on

On October 4th, the fourth-grade classes at Foothills Elementary held their annual Hoe-Down. The fourth-grade classes learned four new dances; one line dance and three partner dances. They also performed well known dances like, The Macarena, The Bunny Hop, and The Chicken Dance.

We had a tremendous turn out from parents and everyone seemed to be having a blast! The students who came all taught their parents each of the three partner dances with the help of Mr. Haskell. Once the steps were learned, the music began, and the students with their parents were all smiles.
