Music is in the Air

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

Music is in the air as Mrs. Roberts's third grade class begins the adventure of learning basic violin skills. So far we have learned how to hold our violins and bows as well as how to care for our instruments. We have learned different note values and open strings. We are looking forward to all of the great music we will learn this year.

“Show, Not Tell”

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

Mrs. McGinnis’ students used their superb acting skills to get their classmates to guess a sentence they were given. Students wrote down evidence of what they saw and then made predictions. We related this to how authors “show, not tell” in their writing! Ever since, our class has been working hard on writing detailed descriptions in our stories!

Shape Hunting in Kindergarten

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

Kindergarten is having so much fun this week! We have been hunting for shapes in our school and on our playgrounds. We are working so hard to learn how to write with the correct pencil grip and create vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines. We enjoy making playdough shapes and listening to nursery rhymes that help us with our rhyming. What a great time to be a little falcon!
