SHHS Football Players Service Day

SHHS Football had a service day and several team player came to Foothills Elementary to tape squares on the basketball standards.  Students have enjoyed playing basketball with the aid of the squares.  One student said, "It is easy to make a basket now." Thanks to the SHHS Football Team for your service.

Foothills 2013-2014 Student Council

We had over 50 applications for student council this year.  How exciting to have so many students want to make Foothills Elementary a better place to be.  Each applicant was asked to write a one page essay on how they could be a productive student council member.  The essays were fabulous and made selecting 12 student council members a difficult thing to do.

Annual Fifth-Grade Egg Drop

Attributions:
Jessica Hiatt

The fifth graders were able to participate in an egg drop for science.  Each child made a container to hold a raw egg.  Salem City brought their boom truck up to help drop them from different heights.  There were many creative creations but in the end, only a handful of students were successful!

Chess Club Closing Social

Students who participated in the chess club this year enjoyed doughnuts and juice and thier closing social.  Students had a fun time learning more about the game of chess and making new friends.  Thanks to Mr. Thurgood and parent volunteers for helping to make the chess club such a great success.
