Dear Parents of Foothills,
I just want to share three important reminders that were shared with me in the wake of the online, home-learning school.
1. You Matter
2. You are Loved
3. Everything will be Okay
You Matter--As you work with your kids at home with online learning please remember to take care of yourself and your kids with breaks when things seem to be going awry. All you can do is your best (no matter what that looks like) and that is enough. You matter and your best will look different from someone else's best, but I promise, your best is enough.
You are Loved--We are all cheering for you!!! We've got your back!
Everything will be Okay--Keep in contact with your children's teachers the best you can. Their feedback will help you help your children.
We've got this! This is challenging for all of us and together we will make this work.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! We love your kids and we love you!!!
Here is a link to a mindful meditation exercise for kids to help facilitate breaks.
gonoodle.com also has some fun movement breaks for kids.
Some wise counsel from one of my dear friends.
"In times of uncertainty, it is important to focus on what we know rather than what we don’t know. Focusing on what we know allows us to plan and to be proactive. Focusing on what we don’t know brings fear and uncertainty."
If you are interested I have included a few links about how to talk to our kids about coronavirus.
This is a video/article for parents about talking to kids about the coronavirus.
Here's a video for kids about the coronavirus.
Best of luck with all that you have before you. Please remember we are here to support you. I will be trading off between my schools so if you need anything please send me an email and I will respond as soon as I can.
