What do ski planes, penguins, and deserts have in common? ANTARCTICA! After studying the article, Life On the Ice, in the their Journeys books, 3rd Grade students were privileged to learn about the finer points of actually living in Antarctica from Dr. Byron Adams. Dr. Adams recently returned from his annual scientific adventure in Antarctica where he studies the "wildlife" a.k.a. nematodes. Dr. Adams encouraged his enthusiastic audience to always be full of wonder, ask questions, and search for answers. He also explained that everyone, regardless of race or gender, can be a scientist or explorer. Moreover, he encouraged the students to prepare now to answer the questions they come up with. The students sat spellbound for over an hour. Thank you Dr. Adams.
