Reflexing their Muscles!

Submitted by elyssa.marzan on

Congratulations to these 2nd grade students who have been working so hard learn their addition and subtraction facts fluently. These students have earned 100% proficiency on Reflex Math.  Reflex Math is a website many teachers use to help students become fluent in addition/subtraction and multiplication/division facts.  Students love the interactive games and being able to track which facts they know by heart, and which ones they still need to work on. Great job, Isaac, David, Nadia, Josh, and Kenedi!

Interview with a Snowman

Submitted by elyssa.marzan on

2nd Grade students learned the ins and outs of what it takes to be a journalist.  Each 2nd grader was able to create their own unique snowman and then got the chance tto sit down with them to have a little chat.  They interviewed their snowman and asked questions like what their favorite winter sport or favorite ice cream was.  These kids are on their way to a whole new career!

Custodian and Lunch Worker Hero Week

Submitted by angela.stoddard on

This week we have been showing our great appreciation to our custodial staff and to our awesome lunch ladies for being the Super Heros of the school! Our PTO organized the week with awesome posters, thank you cards, treats and genuine appreciation for the hard work these heroes of our school put in every day!

Mr. Christensen and his custodial staff work hard all day long to keep our school clean and sanitized. Mrs. Minson and her lunch staff work hard preparing breakfast and lunch every day and often serve over 400 lunches a day.

Exxon Mobil Grant Awarded to Foothills Elementary

Submitted by angela.stoddard on

Foothills was excited to receive a grant for $500 from the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program. A huge thank you to the Westring family who nominated our school to receive the gift. The money will go towards Math and Science supplies. Brylee and Avery Westring delivered the check to Mrs. Stoddard. We appreciate companies like ExxonMobil who support our students and their success in Math and Science and we are so grateful to the Westring family for taking the time to nominate Foothills and for their care and support!
