Smashing Gourd Time!

Submitted by elyssa.marzan on
Last week, third-graders at Foothills Elementary spiced up their learning with a creative reading project that was a smashing gourd time. Using glue, paint, yarn, and other art materials, each third-grader decorated a pumpkin to resemble the main character from a book that they are currently reading. From Dogman to the BFG, anyone who has walked down the Third Grade hall has been able to see these pumpkins showcased and observe what a wide and varied range of characters have brought our third-graders joy this season.

Rainforest Reptiles

Submitted by elyssa.marzan on

2nd graders were thrilled to have visitors from the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium...scaley, reptilian visitors! Students were introduced to two different pythons, and a blue-tongued skink as they learned about their Rainforest habitat and the types of adaptations each reptile has to help them survive.  2nd graders left excited to share the things they had learned with their friends and family.
